Michael Dowling, Chief Executive Officer / Co-Founder

Michael Dowling is CEO and Co-founder of Interpret. Dowling drove the strategic vision for the launch of Interpret and has managed its explosive growth ever since. Dowling has spent his career successfully building new businesses in the entertainment and technology industries. Prior to co-founding Interpret, Dowling led the Nielsen Co.’s growth into emerging industries, such as video games, wireless and broadband content. During his tenure, Dowling led the efforts to consolidate seven separate companies covering the film, video, music and book industries. Dowling also successfully launched the Nielsen Co.’s video game unit, Nielsen Interactive Entertainment ("NIE"). A pioneer in new media and measurement, Dowling is widely acknowledged as a thought leader in understanding and optimizing emerging media.

Prior to joining Nielsen Entertainment, Dowling co-founded and served as President & COO of iFUSE, a youth oriented media company that provided integrated marketing solutions to major advertisers, such as Evian, Nike, Fox, Warner Bros., Altoids, among others. iFUSE's investors included Coca-Cola, Interpublic Group of Companies, Alloy, Inc., Odyssey LP and Cisneros Television Group. Dowling also served as President of Dali Media, an early-stage software development company, and drove the strategy to build an infrastructure to support massively distributed artificial intelligence for MMOGs. Dowling serves on the board of publicly traded SpectrumDNA, Inc. ("SPXA")

Grant Johnson, President

Grant is the President and Co-Founder of Interpret, a market research and consulting firm focused on the convergence of new media, entertainment, technology and advertising.  Grant has 15+ years of academic and consumer-based research experience across global video game, consumer electronics, mobile, home entertainment, theatrical, and music while at Nielsen Entertainment, Lieberman Research Worldwide, and Coleman Research.  Prior to co-founding Interpret, Grant was instrumental in launching Nielsen Interactive Entertainment, a unit that achieved profitability in its first year through Grant’s integration of innovative methodologies and advanced analytics. Grant also served as VP of Nielsen NRG International Theatrical and Home Entertainment operations, returning the International division to profitability in less than one year.  Grant is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Oregon, majoring in philosophy, holds a Master’s in Psychology from Brandeis University, and conducted doctoral research in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Natalia Anoufrintchouk, Vice President

Natalia Anoufrintchouk has significant marketing research experience in the video game, theatrical and home entertainment industries. Prior to becoming a founding member of Interpret, Natalia served as Business Analyst at Nielsen Entertainment and an onsite consultant at Twentieth Century Fox International. Her experience in the entertainment industry is complemented by a breadth of consumer research experience she gained as Research Manager at Research International. She holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in Economics from The Russian Academy of Economic Science in Moscow.

Josh Bell, Vice President, Product Development

Josh Bell has over 12 years of marketing research experience in the entertainment industry and is a founding member of Interpret, LLC, where he is VP of Product Development. Throughout his career at Interpret, he has focused on home entertainment, video game and music research, and prior to joining Interpret, Josh served as Director of Research at Nielsen Entertainment. Having also concentrated on Home Entertainment at Lieberman Research Worldwide and Music at Coleman Research, Josh has developed a broad scope of experience in entertainment research. He holds a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Michael Cai, Vice President, Games & Technology Group

Michael Cai leads the company’s gaming vertical, providing a wide variety of market research and analysis products to help clients gain a comprehensive understanding of consumer gaming habits and interest and make strategic decisions. Prior to joining Interpret, Cai served as Director of Digital Media and Gaming for Parks Associates.  During his tenure with Parks Associates, Cai established and grew its gaming coverage practice and led a research team to provide syndicated and custom research for digital media, gaming and service provider industries.

Dan Casey, Vice President, Digital Content Group

Dan Casey spent 13 years at Universal Studios Home Entertainment as head of title specific and strategic research related to DVD, Blu-ray and electronic distribution. Areas of strategic focus included the impact of changing windows, cannibalization by new formats, new product introductions (DVD/Blu-ray), segmentation and retailer and shopper insights.   Prior to Universal he worked for PhaseOne Communications, analyzing advertising for leading automotive and CPG clients.

Dino Mytides, Vice President, Digital Media Group

Dino has spent the first half of his research career in the advertising and media field. He worked with many blue chip clients to help them size the potential opportunity for their products and identify target audiences. After 7 years of agency experience, Dino came to Interpret to start the NY branch. Since launching the NY office Dino has developed and enhanced extensive methodologies in ad-effectiveness testing on some of the most difficult to measure channels, like gaming and mobile. Dino has also developed an approach to measuring the multi-screen lives of consumers and the ads they’re exposed to. In the short time since bringing Interpret to NY, Dino has built a strong suite of clients on the agency, advertiser and content side. Dino has also worked closely with the Interactive Advertising Bureau focusing his attention on their Games, Mobile, and Streaming Video Committees to further develop the industry standards for ad-effectiveness testing. Dino holds a BA in Psychology from The City University of New York at Queens College.
