Grant Johnson, President

Grant has 14+ years of academic and consumer-based research experience across global theatrical, home entertainment, mobile, video game and music while at Nielsen Entertainment, Lieberman Research Worldwide, Coleman Research and the Boston VA Memory Disorders Research Center. Throughout his career, Grant has built and trained exceptional teams that have provided unmatched client service.

Prior to co-founding Interpret, Grant was instrumental in launching Nielsen Interactive Entertainment, a unit that achieved profitability in its first year through Grant’s integration of innovative methodologies and advanced analytics. Grant also served as VP of Nielsen NRG International Theatrical and Home Entertainment operations, returning the International Theatrical division to profitability in less than one year.

Grant’s facility with a wide range of methodological designs has enabled him to be a thought leader in emerging media types; parlaying his academic research experience in memory and neuropsychology into the development of key metrics for gauging the effectiveness of in-game and other new media brand and product integrations. Grant is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Oregon, majoring in philosophy, holds a Master’s in Psychology from Brandeis University, and conducted doctoral research in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
